FAQs

What is our goal?

Our goal at Dippin Cars is to ensure that your vehicle is cleaned and maintained in a way that meets, or even exceeds your expectations.

Why should I get my vehicle detailed when I can go through a car wash?

Imagine this, a 4x4 drives through a car wash ahead of you after a long day of off roading. You are up next and now all of the dirt, rocks and whatever else the truck may have picked up, is being wiped, pelted and scratched against your car.

Touchless washes are good in a pinch, but will only lightly wash the surface of your car. In order to receive a full wash, avoid scratches and get the best results, your car needs to be washed by hand.

What issue will a detail NOT fix on/in my vehicle?

All details are unique in their own way.

There will always be new issues that detailing cannot address. Here are a few examples: deep scratches that reach bare metal, peeling which will both require body work and repainting as well as some major stains, especially on light colored interiors.

What is a paint decontamination?

Clay bar decontamination is similar to face/skin care. We exfoliate our face to remove any oil and dirt, making it smooth and ready to moisturize. A clay bar will do exactly that to your vehicles paint, by removing harmful surface bonded contaminants (rail dust, fallout, minerals etc). This is something that a basic wash will never be able to do as these contaminants embed themselves in your paint. Once the painted surface is clay barred or 'exfoliated', it allows better bonding to occur between the paint and the sealant and/or wax to allow for maximum durability and long lasting protection of your vehicles paint.

How long does Plasti Dip last?

If properly applied, Plasti Dip could last as long as 3 years without having to be retouched. It is very durable and will not lose it's bond. The spray distance when applying as well as the amount of coats applied will heavily determine the longevity of the product. After 3 years, or during the three years if desired, a new refresher coat can be easily applied.

Does Plasti Dip really just peel off?

Yes, Plasti Dip really does peel off. We always suggest and apply a minimum of 5-6 coats, not only for durability, but to make sure it peels off in large pieces when you are ready.
